Call us on VHF Ch66A when in our area
The wildlife is abundant at Toba. We often see bear, deer, eagles, cormorants, herons, mergansers, seals, sea lions, dolphins and if luck has it, maybe even a pod of killer whales or a solo humpback. You can beach-comb the cozy coves adjacent to the marina, or paddle your canoe, kayak or paddleboard through the crystal waters to explore nearby Double Island.
Take your boat or dinghy out to try your luck at fishing for salmon, prawns, crab or the many types of bottom fish that abound in nearby Toba Inlet. We have lots of local knowledge and can even help arrange a fishing guide. In the spring, you may see the glacial runoff change the inlet to an amazing aqua colour, and some magnificent waterfalls adorning the steep peaks all around.
On one of our many sunny days hike up to the local water fall, relax and soak up the sun or bask in the cool mist and spray from the stunning falls. The short but steep hike is ideal for a good stretch, and the remote, peaceful location is the perfect escape for inspiring a creative writer, artist or photographer.
Whatever your choice of activity or method of relaxation, you are sure to enjoy your days in this quiet, inspirational setting. We do not have any kind of accommodation, store, food services, or fuel services; what we do offer to our overnight boating guests is a place to unwind, meet other boaters, experience remote off-grid amenities, and drink in the beauty of Toba Inlet.
